The term 'Child Appetite' refers to an individual who retains their childhood taste preferences into adulthood.
Born in California, with formative years in Korea and Singapore, each move brought new challenges, from adapting to diverse cultures to learning different languages. These transitions instilled a deep longing for the concept of 'home', a yearning feeling that significantly shaped my identity and life. The sense of nostalgia became the primary inspirations to my art. I preserve childhood memories in notebooks, using art as a stabilizing force amidst life's changes. Often times, the childhood memories take form into keywords, from which I craft imagined characters. The characters then become the central composition of my artworks. From each characters, I hope that everyone can find their unique resonance depending on their own childhood experiences. My art aims to serve as a catalyst for unlocking the hidden memories within each viewer.
